Monday: Just Like Home

Jenny had been telling me last week that she worked two jobs: one at a used bookstore and the second at a comic shop. As you’d expect, I wanted to see both places. She was kind enough to lead me to both. I really like the comic shop, and I spent money there (before you all roll your eyes at me, I bought original artwork by John McCrea!) It’s so shiny!!!! I also saw where I need to go to register with a doctor while I stay here in Aberdeen.

I met Jenny’s really nice flatmate, and then I went back to my flat.

I’d been telling the girls at dinner yesterday about the society I joined (one of the oldest on campus – we’re nearing the 160th anniversary) and Nat and Carleigh expressed interest in joining. So, Nat decided to join me at the meeting Monday evening at the Bobbin pub. I’d wanted her to meet Kerri (the pres), Katie (VP), Seònaid (pronounced like "Shauna", but with a "dge" sound added to the end; apparently, it's a Gaelic name), Phoenix, Naomi, Alison, and the rest (for pics and a sample of these goofy girls, read the bios here: https://sites.google.com/site/aucelticsociety/our-staff - I’ve got one up too!!! More bios and pics will join as we update and provide Kerri with the missing pieces). Natalie fit right in and she’s not the committee’s Shannachie. We also met some other really cool people; like Caeli, a full of life ginger who we’ve adopted into our circle of power.
