Wednesday: On Shenanigans

Got the third and last letter from the bank for a while; I got my PIN! So I went down to the closest bank machine and changed the PIN to one I could actually remember. Then, I continued down High Street to Uni Road and then on to King when Ernest (who I’d tapped to help me) and I went shopping for groceries. We didn’t go further than Morrison’s because Ernest didn’t want to walk all the way to Pound-Stretcher where they sell the milk we drink for 95p for a 2 litre jug (p is what they use to indicate pence – with 100 pence making a pound). So since we didn’t go there, we had to get our milk at Morrison’s and the same amount of whole milk costs 1.87. We ended up buying two jugs of skim milk at Morrison’s, since skim is cheaper, and that cost 3 quid. The boys all complained about the skim, but as I told them; they get what they give. If they don’t want to pay as much and don’t want to drink crap, they need to put in the effort. It didn’t shut them up, but the grumblings were curbed for a bit. And by “a bit” I mean a few hours. Edi and Sam started complaining again later that evening. On the topic of Sam, he’s becoming more like Edi as each day (and that is not a flattering statement I’m making). Since the two are in the same program, they hang out a lot together, they study together, they walk to class together, etc. but I’ve also overheard Edi telling Sam about the dynamics of the group (and yes, that means I heard them talking about me). It was an informative thing I overheard. I am, effectively, the mean and angry one – at least according to Edi. Either way, I find that Sam is picking up a lot of Edi’s habits that drive me mad. We will have to see how long I can hack it before it drives me absolutely batty.
