Another day of classes; I spent the morning rereading the last-minute assignment, ensuring I knew what was going on and that I’d done it properly. The mailman arrived and delivered one of the books that had been indicated would be delivered today. He also dropped off a second book – though this one I’d been informed wouldn’t arrive before November 5th. While I was happy that it did arrive early, I was a little unhappy that the book I’d ordered on Tuesday hadn’t arrived (I was told it and Sam’s purchase would arrive today).
Zax got home and made an awesome lunch which he was kind enough to share; it was instant noodles as a soup with egg drops and tomatoes in it. I tossed in a couple of slices of cheese and had to take it with me to class (as I was, surprise, surprise) running late. I got to class and had to laugh, my cheese slices had melted and then congealed with the noodles, egg and tomatoes to form this awesome brick of yumminess.
The lecture was different this time; there were no overheads which made note-taking awkward, but we watched a film as well, and that was pretty cool.
After class, Nat and I had a committee meeting, and we took Carleigh with us (she’s interested in joining the society). The meeting was a committee one, so it was boring for Carleigh, but she got to meet the crazies (I say this with love) and she looks like she’ll still join us anyways.
I’d heard about a ceiligh happening tomorrow at Hillhead (my res) that I’d told Natalie, Carleigh, Hannah, Wibke, Maria, Zax, and Caeli about. They all seem interested and the girls all plan on coming over to the flat before hand to meet the monkeys (Jenny may also join us, and Wibke may pass, but the others have all confirmed their attendance at supper). Neo may also join us at the ceilidh, we’ll see.
Zax, Ernest and I had seen – on our return from shopping on Saturday – an ASDA delivery truck on res. (ASDA is a grocer here in the UK). Apparently, it’s possible to order online from them and they’ll deliver for a nominal fee (the fee varies depending on the time of delivery). Z and I compiled the list of groceries, and I put in our order. It was expensive, but by ordering for delivery, we didn’t have to worry about carting our purchases over 2 miles uphill as we normally do.
I figure, we’ll see how this turns out and we may repeat the process, or we may not, it all depends on how tomorrow’s delivery works out for us.
Incidentally, the book I’d ordered on Tuesday to be delivered today was here when I got back, but Sam’s purchase wasn’t here. I think it’s because his was WAY too big to fit in our mail slot and he wasn’t here to accept it (I’d told him he’d probably need to be here, but he never showed up. We’ll see tomorrow what is what). My book is totally awesome; and I love it. I currently have 7 books I need for the dissertation, and a few others that I got because I like them (but they aren't the Amazon purchases).
